Overview

The Detroit Windsor Tunnel (DWT) is seeking an ELECTRICIAN for its Maintenance Department to perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical wiring, apparatus, systems, fixtures, motors, and other equipment in accordance with specifications and codes, to ensure life safety systems at DWT are operating optimally. Maintain all electrical panels and circuitry, and repair and maintain all electrical components on equipment on its property and within the ventilation building to keep equipment in working order and the facility fully functioning.

This position is primarily Mon-Fri days (7A-3P). DWT is a 24/7 operation; the candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends, and Holidays, as required.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, apparatus, systems, fixtures, motors, and related equipment in accordance with specifications and codes.
  • Maintain all electrical panels and circuitry; repair and maintain electrical components on equipment on the property and within the ventilation building to keep equipment operational and the facility fully functioning.
  • Ensure life safety systems are operating optimally.
  • Support a 24/7 operation by being available for evenings, weekends, and Holidays as required.
Qualifications
  • Michigan Electrical Journeyman’s License and licensed to work in the City of Detroit; two years’ experience as an Electrician in an industrial setting; valid MI driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • 2+ years of electrician experience, preferably in a 24/7 operation or within transportation/tolling/automotive industries.
  • Proficiency in electricity and electrical work.
  • Skills in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in toll operations or transportation industry is a plus.
  • Relevant licensing or certification as an electrician.
