RoleSecurity Systems Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including CCTV or IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. You will also mentor less experienced technicians, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and customer interactions help keep buildings and inhabitants safe.
Responsibilities- Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance:
Run routine reports to review system operation. Participate in final inspection and testing. Support customer acceptance. Assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports. Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation. - Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination:
May support others in scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
- Understanding of network components and workstation/server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality; basic switch, router, and firewall principles
- Willing and able to work in various environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in various weather conditions; able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work in the field at customer locations, typically within 1-2 hours around Detroit and statewide coverage; overnight travel estimated at less than 10%
- Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license (limited violations) and eligible to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED;
Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred - 5+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $57,120 - $97,920 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
