About the Role
Looking for a Security Installation Technician that is proficient with Card Access and Cameras – all commercial top brands:
Brivo, Avigilon, Bosch, Gentec, Software House, Milestone, Hikvision, Axis, and Hanwa.
Looking for a high-level Security Installation Technician to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI with up to 50% travel across the US. This person would be installing security cameras, card access for mostly commercial accounts. Ability to read blueprints, run and terminate Cat‑6 cable is a must. Knowing commercial codes for fire alarms – pull stations, smoke detectors – is also a must‑have.
From a technology perspective they only install and program the highest‑level/new card access and camera brands. They sell several different brands so technicians have to be versed in many brands and stay up to speed with technology changes.
- Proficient with cable pulling – Cat6
- Installation of IP cameras
- Installation of access‑control systems
- Proficient with using scissor lifts
- Experience installing projectors or A/V equipment
- Install various network cabling infrastructure in a data center environment, including structured cabling (CAT3/CAT5/CAT6 copper, fiber and coaxial), patch panels and wire‑management systems.
- Coordinate, install and test premises equipment in a data center environment: PDU’s, computers, switches, routers, optics, wireless access points, and other transport equipment.
- Utilize industry‑standard cable test procedures and equipment for various cabling systems, including wire mapping, OTDR, network analyzer, visual fault locator.
- Device rack and stack.
- Hard drive installation and replacement.
- Conduct testing of fiber and copper using a variety of test equipment.

Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00/hr.

This is a contract‑to‑hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
