** Compensation**$23.51 - $32.42(Based on Experience)
** Summary
* * Repair and maintain tools and equipment. Perform required routine preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Perform other related duties and work for Field Services, Water, and Wastewater Plant Operations.
** Job Responsibilities
*** Perform preventative, predictive, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting on pumping, mechanical and chemical equipment
* Perform repair and overhaul of heavy equipment, machinery, pumps, valves, dewatering equipment, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment found in industrial settings
* Perform rigging, cutting, and machinery alignment
* Provide on-the-job training
* Regularly inspect the working condition of equipment, tools, and work areas and maintain cleanliness
* Replace and repair equipment
* Collect and analyze process equipment and performance data used to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance
* Read and interpret hydraulic circuits and other blueprints, schematics, and drawings
* Complete and document work, hours, findings in the GLWA supplied computerized maintenance management system
* Maintain various records and prepare reports
* Review specifications for new equipment and provide comments to engineering or the manufacturer
* Perform tests, document, and maintain records, prepare reports, and then report results
* Prepare specifications and obtain estimates for projects including labor and materials when required
* Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties
* Perform work-related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
**** At the time of application, applicants must:
*** High School or GED
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in completing maintenance or troubleshooting for water or wastewater treatment facilities, industrial facilities, pumping stations, or similar facilities
** AND one of the following certifications
*** MWEA (CWEA) Mechanical Technologist Grade 2 certification
* Michigan S5 or F5 or higher Certification (Water and Field Only)
* Class D or higher Michigan Wastewater Certification (Wastewater Only)
** Other Requirements
*** Valid Michigan Driver’s License

* Physical Requirements:
** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The position requires the ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, work in confined spaces, elevated locations, and descent underground. Lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, stand, or work for long periods of time. Demonstrate normal color perception, hear audible alarms, and detect abnormal equipment sounds. Visually inspect equipment and processes at any time of the day or night, pass a bio-mechanical physical, vision, baseline physical and annual fit tests, wear respiratory protection, and other personal protective equipment.
Perform a variety of laboring tasks involving carrying, stacking, digging, shoveling, hitting, pushing, pulling, and other efforts requiring considerable physical strength and stamina.
** Environmental Working Requirements:
** Work is performed in the field or plant environment. Work may be performed in confined spaces, hazardous areas that require respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE), and under slippery and wet conditions.
