Job Description

Territory Sales. B2B and In home sales of flooring including installation

Your job duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of contact to the customer for flooring service requests.
  • Arrive on time and professionally represent FCI on all appointments in your Mobile Showroom.
  • Wear FCI Branded clothing at all appointments, along with proper slacks and shoes.
  • Attend regularly scheduled team meetings reviewing organizational goals and individual tasks.
  • Communicate customer needs/expectations and coordinate customer installation/scheduling requests with the FCI team.
  • Manage customer expectations relative to the project.
  • Return to finished jobs on day of completion for walk through and pick up final payment.
  • Inspect, take pictures and videos of the finished job, and ask for reviews and referrals.
  • Write flooring proposals using FCI’s Sales System and proprietary estimating software, working to close every potential job as quickly as possible. Target of 10 proposals per week.
  • Follow up on outstanding proposals.
  • Maintain relationships with current customers as well as identifying and developing relationships with new customers (i.e. friends, family, neighbors, networking groups, restoration companies, assisted living facilities, apartment complexes, etc.). Target of 2 new contacts per week.
  • Discover and attend networking groups on behalf of Floor Coverings International. Utilize networking tactics and groups to advance lead flow.
  • Target of 2 self-generated appointments a week.
  • Engage in on-going training/educational requirements (may involve travel at company expense).
  • Keep current on products in the showroom and trends in the flooring industry.
  • Make decisions and act in accordance with FCI’s core values and mission.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and a clean vehicle.
Work Hours

40+ hours per week are flexible and may change from day to day. Activities will include customer appointments, networking, training, internal meetings, local events, and other business-related activities. Customer appointments last between 1-3 hours; evenings and weekends as needed based on customer needs.

Events

We participate in many shows and other local events each year. Your attendance at these is optional to generate leads and to build your book of business. If you have a show idea or events where you feel we should be present, please bring those to our attention.

Training Plan

We will provide a complete training program so that you are fully equipped to perform the role successfully. The training will consist of:

  • Ride-Alongs: starting as soon as you accept this offer, and a start date is agreed upon
  • Online sales training
  • Inspired sales training
  • Additional training: supplier training, DA meetings online, Co-op knowledge sharing, etc.
Company Provided Items

We will provide you with the following:

  • Our Mobile Flooring Showroom including over 3,000 flooring samples
  • You will be responsible for keeping it clean, organized, taking care of the samples, adhering to the maintenance schedule, and immediately making the company aware of any performance issues
  • Smoking & eating are not permitted in the mobile showroom.
  • Auto insurance will be paid for by the company for the mobile showroom
  • Gas card will be provided
  • Tablet for estimating the projects
  • Digital measuring device
  • Branded clothing
