Position Overview
The Store Manager plays a critical role in providing support to merchandising, operational, and human resources functions for an individual store to achieve or exceed planned sales and profits. This proactive and vigilant individual remains highly engaged with customers, demonstrates integrity, and effectively communicates in a dynamic retail setting. The Store Manager also builds a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change‑management efforts within the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities- Recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and terminate employees, ensuring legal compliance and internal processes.
- Maintain financial controls, including shrink, payroll and other operating expenses.
- Maintain proper inventory controls, facilitate inventory transactions, and ensure compliance with shrink-control standards.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory–taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
- Ensure staff adherence to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of retail experience as a Store Manager.
- 5–7 years of retail experience.
- Store Managers are scheduled to work 45 hours per week and must be able to perform the essential physical functions listed below with or without accommodation.
- Squat/Kneel/Stoop (Frequent to continuous).
- Stand/Bend/Walk (Frequent to continuous).
- Twist (Occasional to Frequent).
- Reach above shoulder (Occasional to Frequent).
- Lift/Carry (Occasional to Frequent).
- Push/Pull (Occasional to Frequent).
- Use of hands (manual dexterity, grasping [Frequent to Continuous]).
