The Food service Production Cook is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while supporting daily kitchen operations. This role prepares, cooks, and serves food according to menu standards and guest requests in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. The Production Cook ensures that all food meets Plum Market Food service’s quality expectations for flavor, presentation, and consistency while upholding proper sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards across the culinary department.

Who You Are
  • At least 1 year of experience as a cook.
  • Can think quickly and step into different roles as needed to ensure service, food safety, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Understands and practices proper rotation principles and food safety standards.
  • Takes pride in maintaining clean equipment and an organized, safe kitchen environment.
  • Is dependable, self‑motivated, and committed to working alongside your team to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Can properly open and close the kitchen, including equipment checks, sanitation, and documentation.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while remaining detail‑oriented.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break, bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
What You Will Do
  • Provide fast, courteous, and professional service to guests.
  • Prepare, cook, heat, and serve all components of the daily menu following Plum Market Food service standards.
  • Maintain the hot bar during lunch service to ensure food is fresh, well‑presented, and properly rotated.
  • Perform all food safety and sanitation practices, including daily equipment checks and temperature logs.
  • Demonstrate proper knife skills, portion control, and recipe execution.
  • Receive deliveries, stock shelves and coolers, and rotate products according to established standards.
  • Assist with catering orders, including preparation and delivery as directed by the manager.
  • Support other stations as needed, including sandwich and salad.
  • Wash dishes as needed and keep all kitchen areas, equipment, and floors clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Sweep and mop floors daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Communicate needs, issues, or concerns to leadership promptly.
  • Uphold all Plum Market Food service policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
