Quality Supervisor – Aerospace Manufacturing
The Adecco Permanent Recruitment team is recruiting on behalf of an Aerospace Manufacturing client in the Metro Detroit area for a Quality Supervisor
. This is an exciting direct-hire opportunity for a driven quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and zero-defect performance.
This role reports directly to the Quality Manager and plays a key leadership role in supporting business objectives tied to quality, delivery, and sustainable growth.
Core Responsibilities- Supervise all hourly personnel within the Inspection, CMM, and FPI departments
- Perform weekly payroll timekeeping for hourly employees in Inspection, CMM, FPI, Material Testing Laboratory, and Document Control
- Manage inspection and testing workloads to meet customer delivery commitments
- Create and deliver quality communications and training related to non-conformances on the production floor
- Participate in daily review of MRR carts to achieve a 24-hour turnaround time
- Serve as the Quality lead in the drive toward Zero Defects
, partnering with Engineering and Production to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) - Develop and communicate quality metrics
, posting results in applicable departments - Calculate and track daily utilization and efficiency for each department
- Maintain strong communication with internal leadership and shop-floor personnel
- Complete SAE training and learn DQR shipping responsibilities to provide inspection backup as needed
- Support Quality Engineering initiatives including FAIs, concessions, NPI, PPAP, GR&R, and PFMEAs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
- Working knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance systems, processes, and techniques
- Strong root cause analysis
, corrective action, and preventive action experience - Familiarity with measurement and test equipment
, including calibration in a manufacturing environment - Experience with quality inspection equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work cross-functional
- Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, procedures, and standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, reasoning, and organizational skills
- Successful completion of an annual eye exam (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Quality experience strongly preferred)
