Role Summary
As a quality assurance analyst, you are responsible for monitoring, testing, and adhering to quality processes and standards to correct or improve Ascent Cloud products. The quality assurance analyst is additionally responsible for supporting product management with the planning, design, and execution of product objectives. This involves developing test plans, test scripts, and process plans. You will also contribute directly to the development and maintenance of automated E2E testing solutions for our product suite.
Analysts work closely with the product and customer success teams to execute and maintain test cases based on quality requirements. You will also have the opportunity to recommend and drive changes to predetermined quality guidelines. Quality assurance is responsible for ensuring that the end product meets or exceeds our minimum quality standards, is fully functional, and user-friendly.
- Assess product increments to ensure the acceptance criteria are satisfied. Also support related assessments to ensure that our Definition of Done is satisfied.
- Evaluate the details in our backlog items (e.g., acceptance criteria, risks, etc.) to create and to run test plans that address quality, completeness, and consistency.
- Evaluate quality assurance technology footprint and address known issues with quality assurance processes.
- Analyze test results and communicate with product managers and analysts to mitigate future risks to product quality.
- Actively participate with product stakeholders in the requirements gathering and release management stages of the software development life cycle.
- Perform necessary system, performance, scalability, and regression testing on assigned product projects.
- Regularly communicate at various product meetings the status of quality assurance testing progress.
- Take ownership of quality assurance activities and coach best practices to product development team members.
- Assist with support and customer success efforts to triage customer issues.
- Periodically review and assist technical communications, maintaining the customer knowledge base and release notes.
- Identify and assist with additional functional requirement testing of product requirements on features and bug reports as part of product quality assurance.
- Communicate with Business Analysts and Product Managers as to the progress of product quality assurance and appropriately sign off on related work items to ensure quality control is passed.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with developers to establish testing strategies and refine acceptance criteria in an Agile environment.
- Analyze requirements to create comprehensive test plans, ensuring efficient and thorough coverage.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to identify and resolve software defects.
- Advocate for quality standards and automation best practices across the organization.
- Work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to scale QA capabilities as the company grows.
- 2+ years of experience in QA
- Experience or interest in writing automated E2E tests
- Strong communication skills - particularly in writing.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with bug tracking systems and test case management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Familiarity with the Salesforce platform.
- Experience with SaaS products and complex, data-driven B2B applications.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL, SOQL) and querying techniques.
- Software testing certifications from ISTQB (e.g. CTFL).
- Experience in Agile environments and iterative development cycles.
- Exposure to serverless frameworks and cloud-based testing environments.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress).
- Experience writing clean JavaScript, Python, Type Script, or Java code.
- Strong code review skills and analytical thinking.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and inclusive communicator, both verbally, and in writing.
- Self-motivated and curious, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving development environment.
