Job Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
  • Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience required (2 years highly desired)
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; experience with clinical documentation in an electronic health record (EHR)
  • Experience in LTAC, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR settings is a plus
  • Ventilator/respiratory support, pulmonary care, or critical care experience is a plus for LTAC RN roles
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with individualized LTAC care plans for medically complex patients
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientee staff; support team-based patient care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care (interprofessional communication)
  • Perform systematic assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and functional needs and document findings accurately in the EHR
  • Develop and update nursing care plans, including problem identification, interventions, and discharge planning
  • Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately; maintain competency in IV medication administration
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and manage emergency situations effectively (ACLS/BLS skills required)
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, infection control, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Promote a positive, customer-service-oriented environment for patients, families, and staff
