Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic Educator – Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for assigned units/clinics in orientation, continuing education, and in‑services, ensuring alignment with Tenet educational goals and national nursing education standards.
- Support educational needs through classroom instruction, clinical experiences, and learning technologies for assigned units/clinics.
- Ensure all program and course revisions meet Department of Nursing and regulatory expectations and standards, staying current with nursing education research.
- Provide consultation on continuing education, professional development opportunities, mentorship, and educational program enhancements (e.g., Grand Rounds, specialty curricula).
- Lead, coach, and mentor preceptors, nurse residents, and other staff through educational initiatives and ongoing professional growth.
- Participate in quality performance improvement activities, evaluate nursing education activities for continuing education credit, and stay abreast of changes to facility policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development of clinical policies and procedures as requested and provide guidance and resources for professional growth of others.
- Engage with educational projects and units (e.g., PICU, Pediatric Oncology Clinics, PSTT, Children’s Specialty, Therapies, Pharmacy, Child Life) and support associated projects such as AHA, PALS, PEARS, Pedi Chemo, CAUTI.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related specialty.
- Minimum three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting (preferred).
- Current state nursing license and certifications required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across Tenet to advance goals and strategic vision.
- Demonstrated responsibility for reporting to licensing and accreditation bodies for educational program compliance.
- Ethical, fair, and timely interaction with staff consistent with organizational policies.
- Proactive in identifying factors that affect staff ability to fulfill job responsibilities and collaborating with management for improvement.
- Active participation in committees, market work groups, and patient‑care improvement initiatives.
- Ability to cultivate positive relationships with academic programs and demonstrate professional courtesy (AIDET).
