Job Description
We are seeking an experienced  Locum Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant  to provide emergency department coverage during a recruitment gap. This role is ideal for an APP with strong emergency medicine experience who is confident practicing independently while collaborating closely with on-site physicians.

The APP will manage patient care autonomously during scheduled shifts, with an emergency physician always present and available for consultation.

Assignment Details

End Date:  June 30, 2026

11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Shift Length:  10 hours

Coverage Needs:  Ongoing with select specific dates

Compensation:

Clinical Responsibilities

Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients

Provide high-quality emergency care across a broad range of presentations

Collaborate with on-site emergency physicians for consultation as needed

Participate in ED response to house codes when applicable

Document patient care using Cerner EMR

Coordinate admissions with hospitalists or emergency physicians

Emergency Department Overview

Provisional Level IV Emergency Department

Annual ED volume of approximately 20,000 visits

Average daily patient volume: ~20 patients

25-bed emergency department

Physician coverage present during all APP shifts

No fast-track unit

Orthopedic, OB, General Surgery, Neurology, and Urology consultant support

24/7 access to radiology, laboratory, blood bank, pathology, and operating room services

Active  Michigan license  at time of submission (IMLC not accepted)

Active  DEA registration

ACLS and PALS certifications

Clean background to support expedited credentialing

Must be a  local provider  (required, no exceptions)
