Responsibilities- Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient using the nursing process.
- Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
- Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
- Recognizes and participates in own continuing education.
- INTERNAL CANDIDATES MUST APPLY WITH INTERNAL PROFILE
- If at any point the extern does not meet their academic institution s standard for continued enrollment in the school of nursing classes, their employment as an extern will be rescinded.
- Position is time limited. a. ADN:
Maximum 12 months for ADN. b. BSN:
Maximum 24 months for BSN (adjust for Part Time BSN programs). - Successful completion of 180-day introductory period required to achieve knowledge of policies relative to job duties and patient care unit.
- Current Health Care Provider Certification Required.
