Job Title:

Nurse Extern II Telemetry Contingent Nights ) — DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE II works under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and NE II skills and abilities.

The NE II reports all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Specific patient care tasks may vary by unit or service line, based on the patient population being served. The NE II is assigned to an experienced RN each shift and assists with patient care such as ADLs, vitals, ambulation and other duties within the scope of the patient care tech or equivalent.

The assigned RN instructs and mentors the Nurse Extern II and provides ongoing feedback."

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants can apply starting 6 months before graduation from an accredited school of nursing and must pass all senior courses to remain in the program.
