Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and families.
- Effectively communicate with the health care team and demonstrate clinical competence.
- May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position; work independently and in collaboration with the principal investigator when appropriate.
- Manage the in-basket, complete patient encounters via the RN triage line, in-person visits for incision checks, blood pressure evaluations, and pre-surgical teachings.
Hours: 32 hours a week scheduled between 8:30-5. Requires one half Saturday (3-4 times a year) for a half clinic on the third Saturday of the month, split amongst all staff RNs.
Education/Experience Required
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.
- Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
- Preferred experience in the specialty.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- L&D experience required.
- Preferred in-basket experience.
- GYN experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensures Required
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
- Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard (e.g., Oncology Certified Nurse).
