Overview
RN / Assistant Nurse Manager / BPICU (90% Nights)
Harborview Medical Center Assistant Nurse Manager (RN3) Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU. Reports to the Nurse Manager. Provides leadership for clinical practice, education, and management to support safe, high-quality patient care and unit operations.
Responsibilities- Prescribe, prioritize, delegate, and allocate nursing resources using the nursing process.
- Make independent judgments on staffing, unit workflow, and patient care in collaboration with disciplines to ensure continuity from admission through discharge.
- Provide leadership for unit activities, including clinical practice, education, and management tasks as delegated.
- Lead initiatives to promote quality nursing care, effective problem solving, and safe, compassionate care.
- Coordinate orientation, credentialing, competency development, and ongoing education for nursing staff; serve as Master Preceptor where applicable.
- Support staff education programs, performance feedback, and evaluation of competencies; participate in interviewing and hiring considerations.
- Assist with staff scheduling, timekeeping training, and unit-based HR/payroll initiatives; model collaboration and effective communication using TeamSTEPs methodology.
- Chairs unit-based committees and promotes evidence-based nursing practice; ensures compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Maintain patient safety, staff safety, and service excellence; promote a positive work environment and team building across disciplines.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of WA.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Minimum two to three years of professional nursing experience, with demonstrated skill in adult education (preceptor, unit-based training, etc.).
- Nursing certification in a specialty is desirable (e.g., CCRN).
- Pay Range Minimum: $98,448.00 annual
- Pay Range Maximum: $ annual
- Other Compensation: $10,000 Recruiting Incentive eligibility; $1/hour BSN premium; $1.25/hour certification premium; $4.50/hour Nights; $4/hour Weekends; relocation incentive as applicable
