Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist OB Part Time Detroit

$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!

Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during obstetrical deliveries and procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all ASA classes of patients. Works in a care‑team model but must be proficient to autonomously perform spinals, epidurals, and manage cesarean sections and obstetric emergencies, with approximately 2,500‑3,000 deliveries per year.

Schedule:

mix of two 12‑hour shifts or one 24‑hour shift, primarily weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership in the professional practice setting.
  • Supports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Delegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner.
  • Identifies patient problems and collaborates with the anesthesia/surgeon perioperative team to select appropriate interventions.
  • Interacts with members of the health care team to plan and coordinate perioperative care.
  • Promotes a healthy work environment through professional communication standards, commitment to co‑workers, and positive problem resolution.
  • Conducts pre‑anesthetic assessments and documents findings.
  • In collaboration with the anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan and manages all aspects of anesthesia care—including preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.
  • Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non‑emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital.
  • Anticipates and exceeds patient and customer expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience.
  • Identifies services and care improvement ideas and acts on them to create excellent customer experiences.
  • Demonstrates, supports, and assumes personal accountability for consistently upholding team standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes the unique contribution of all health care team members to the patient experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Independently uses and documents the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal‑focused, individualized, safe, age‑specific care for all patients, including those with complex pathophysiological or psychosocial needs.
  • Seeks to understand and incorporate both safe practices and evidence‑based practices into daily nursing care.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice environment and documentation.
  • Directs and delegates nursing care based on patient acuity and staff competency, consistent with the nurse’s obligation to provide optimum patient care.
  • Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and programs.
  • Participates in professional development and continuous learning, contributing to establishing and improving the workplace environment that encourages respectful interactions, support of peers, and identification of issues that need to be addressed.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills in appropriate technology.
  • Provides education for staff, colleagues, patients, and/or families; precepts new staff and students as requested; documents individualized patient and family education; demonstrates current clinical knowledge in the specialty area; integrates research findings into practice.
  • Participates in community activities and/or professional organizations; represents Henry Ford Health by promoting an atmosphere of care, concern, pride, and respect to internal and external customers.
  • Maintains awareness of personal actions and activities and their impact on the image of nursing.
  • Aware of financial implications of actions and decisions; supports the unit financially by using resources cost‑effectively.
