Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend

Description:
Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Unit is a 27-bed unit specializing in behavioral health. We support the medical and mental well being of our patients throughout their stay, an average of 5-10 days (longer depending on their specific need). We operate as a team for the wellbeing of all our patients, and we are supported by three Psychiatrists and multiple Behavioral Health Technicians daily.
Our beautifully renovated unit (January 2024) is designed with our patients in mind. Our close-knit unit fosters a growth mindset encouraging voluntary participation in shared governance, and educational development. We welcome nursing candidates with at least one year of prior medical nursing experience, who are willing to learn all about behavioral health. Come join our team!
- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
PREFFERED
EXPERIENCE:
- Registered Nurses with one (1) or more years of prior medical nursing experience are preferred.
