Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Job Location: Detroit, MI 48207

Job Duration: 12+ Months+ (with possible extension)

Work Hours:

• 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
• Second Saturday 8-12 pm

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
  
  REQUIRED:
  
  Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

• Short Term Assignment - 9/30 end date
• Ambulatory Position for RN in Family Medicine clinic.
• REQUIRED:
  
  Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in a Med Surg level role, Previous experience working in a family medicine clinic setting, Current MI RN licensure, Current BLS certification through AHA, excellent communication skills in person via messenger and via phone.
• Day to day tasks are mostly NOT hands on patient interaction.
• An RN that is used to being on the floor in a hospital setting will likely not thrive in this environment.
• This will be mostly desk work; phone triage, appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, patient chart review, etc.
• The timeline for responding to patient messages through HF applications is 24 hours or less with same day responses preferred.
• Please make sure this standard is set with any candidates submitted.
• The 9/30 end date for this contract is firm at this time.
• Should the LOA of the direct worker this position is covering be extended an extension may be offered.
• Candidates coming off of contract with the HF system would be preferred due to decreased onboarding/compliance time needed.
