Nurse Manager Ambulatory Pulmonary FT - Detroit
Responsible for multiple clinics including Detroit, Novi, Sterling Heights & Taylor.
This is a Monday - Friday schedule - no weekends/holidays
Candidate Preferences:
Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience. Pulmonary or ICU experience required. Strong communication, organizational, and critical‑thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to manage staffing, budgets, and daily operations effectively. The candidate should demonstrate emotional intelligence, a focus on quality and patient safety, and the ability to lead through change while fostering teamwork and staff engagement.
Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC and a proven record of promoting collaboration between clinical and administrative teams are also highly valued.
GENERAL
SUMMARY:
The Nursing Manager is a Registered Nurse who is accountable for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating the delivery of patient care at multiple sites or departments. Provides clinic leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team and leadership to assure quality patient care. Care is provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group and Henry Ford Health policies and procedures.
Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. In conjunction with the Administrator, assumes responsibility for fiscal management of clinic/department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field required. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent preferred. Three to five (3‑5) years of progressively more responsible experience demonstrating leadership skills in a clinical setting required. Some examples include Charge Nurse Duties;
Leadership of special projects such as Service Excellence teams;
Quality Improvement initiatives, Clinic Process Redesign. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage complex clinical, administrative, and interpersonal problems. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Maintains professional competency through review of current literature, attendance at educational programs, and participation in professional organizations.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
