ABOUT THE POSITION

The Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) seeks a dynamic and engaged individual to help us advance our mission to lead, strengthen and support Michigan's community. This full-time role provides significant leadership, input and support in the design, development and implementation of CMF education and engagement programs, learning activities and related services and supports as assigned by the Director of Learning Services.

Duties of the role

The following responsibilities are descriptions of current areas of work of CMF, each aligned with areas of the CMF strategic framework.

  • Manage a portfolio of Learning Services programs and peer communities. For each, identify annual outcomes aligned to CMF’s framework objectives and member interest, working in collaboration with CMF members, staff and partners. Work with the Office of Foundation Liaison and Government Relations Public Policy team to align select learning services programs with public policy goals and domains.
  • Codesign engagement strategies to maximize the impact of programs and peer communities.
  • Serve as an effective communicator and liaison between members and staff, continually building relationships, supporting connections with peers and partners in the field, and providing technical assistance and problem-solving support.
  • Monitor news, trends and data related to key issue areas and sector areas of focus. Research topics and potential speakers connected to those areas of focus. Curate and share information with program and peer community co-chairs and members.
  • Schedule programs (i.e., meetings, convenings) on CMF’s calendar in partnership with team members and in consideration of other events and observances. Coordinate and execute key aspects of program communications and work with the communications team to support program promotions and storytelling.
  • Lead program planning calls with members and speakers/facilitators to develop agendas and learning goals, consider appropriate session formats and finalize session design. Direct and coordinate the efforts of staff, consultants and volunteers providing program support. Develop and oversee contracts with approved vendors and locations to be used for events and meetings. Conduct pre-program run-throughs and oversee day-of program logistics and execution.

    Analyze program evaluation data.
  • Support department collaboration and efforts broadly, including future program planning and the development of key resources (i.e., budgets, procedures, presentation materials, forms, etc.).
  • Assist with programming development and implementation for the CMF Annual Conference in partnership with team members and the Annual Conference Program Committee.
  • Proactively communicate with the Director of Learning Services on program, project, peer community and initiative status updates, deadlines, challenges and successes.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
