Job Description & How to Apply Below

Renaissance of Hope, Inc. (ROH) is the nonprofit development arm of Straight Gate International Church (SGIC). Its mission is to be an organization of true ministry, where divine resources meet human needs through loving channels, and to actively engage in nonprofit residential and community real estate programs for low and moderate-income individuals.

The vision and mission of this neighborhood approach is to create a well-connected, equitable neighborhood bound by the major transit corridors of Grand River and Livernois, utilizing these edges to define the neighborhood character and draw regional traffic. ROH’s Strategic Development Plan aims to build upon the history and strengths of the area by repurposing vacant buildings and lots while maximizing resources of existing spaces, organizations, and proposed projects to create a sense of ownership and pride in the neighborhood.

The Director of Operations is the President’s right hand – responsible for ensuring ROH executes its mission with discipline, alignment, and operational excellence. This role stabilizes the organization, oversees internal operations, manages staff, and ensures that ROH delivers on the implementation of its Strategic Development Plan.

Responsibilities:

1.Organizational Leadership & Operational Management

  • Build and oversee day-to-day operations that support a growing CDC with multi-year, multi-project development pipelines.
  • Ensure organizational systems, processes, and workflows are strong, efficient, and scalable.
  • Create accountability systems and performance metrics for staff.
  • Implement HR systems, staff onboarding, professional development, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain a high-trust, high-performance internal culture.
2.Resource Hub Operations
  • Oversee the operational launch and ongoing function of the Resource Hub.
  • Manage staff and ensure smooth tenant coordination, schedules, building logistics, and partnership activation.
  • Develop facility policies, safety procedures, and operational playbooks.
  • Ensure the Resource Hub becomes a high-functioning, financially sustainable community anchor.
  • Oversee financial systems, budgeting, internal controls, and monthly reviews.
  • Ensure timely and accurate grant reporting, compliance, and reimbursement processes.
  • Coordinate budgets for major projects and programs.
  • Prepare financial materials for board and funder reporting.
  • Support ROH’s president in long-term financial planning, including sustainability modeling.
4.Resource Development and Fundraising
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial resources for the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential donors, grant‑making organizations, and corporate sponsors to expand funding opportunities.
  • Prepare grant proposals, manage grant reporting, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
5.Major Project + Strategic Partnership Support
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to ROH’s President.
  • Represent ROH in meetings as needed with partners, funders, and public‑sector stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic support for ROH’s Community Engagement 1,000 Relationships strategy.
  • Maintain internal coordination between development, community engagement, and program operations.
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and interdependences across departments.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years in nonprofit, CDC, community development, or large‑scale program management leadership.
  • Proven experience managing teams and complex operations.
  • Strong financial literacy and experience with budgets, compliance, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
  • Ability to build systems, workflows, and structures in a growing organization.
  • Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in community development, affordable housing, real estate, or neighborhood planning.
  • Experience working with major philanthropic funders, government agencies, or anchor institutions.
  • Facility management or oversight of a large community‑serving building.
  • Experience launching new initiatives, programs, or operations.
  • Familiarity with the specific neighborhood and community in which Renaissance of Hope operates.
