Description
The Van Lead is responsible for managing the employees that transport the vehicles from one location to another in the van that they are assigned to. Primary goals are to ensure that the requirements of our customer requirements are met.
The Van Leads report to the Yard Manager and / or Group Leader and have direct responsibility to ensure that all rules are complied with.
Position Responsibilities- Know the inspection process and train team on standardized inspections process. i.e. (FVS-00-22_.Standard Inspection Process)
- Know how to use equipment (scanners/computer/etc.)
- Fill out necessary paperwork on a daily basis
- Understand the Rules of the Road and conduct safety meetings daily
- Manage a staff of Driver/ Porters
- Coordinate breaks to ensure high productivity
- Follow Management direction on the best route for moving vehicles in a safe manner.
Essential
Skills and Experience:
- Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- Training
- Computer training helpful, but not necessary.
- Skills
- Verbal and written communications skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Have a valid Operators Permit
- Experience
- Experience in vehicle movement field.
- Experience with leadership.

- Have natural or corrected eyesight capable of conducting inspections in varying levels of light.
- Have normal range of hearing, or corrected hearing, to be able to respond to normal workplace sounds including approaching vehicles.
