VSE Consulting Group, LLC ("VSE") is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team and support our clients to improve their quality and production at their assembly plants. VSE’s success has been driven by leveraging experienced, and talented consultants to deliver outstanding services to our manufacturing clients.
Position SummaryThe Executive Consultant is a strong and experienced technical leader responsible for leading a team of consultants that are working to optimize assembly systems, improve quality and production performance within manufacturing plants. This role focuses on managing the overall consulting engagement at our customer’s facility and ensuring VSE consulting services that create customer value (ROI) for their business. Our consulting projects are intended to generate significant improvements in internal / external quality performance, cost reduction, and production KPIs.
Responsibilities- Lead the overall consulting engagement (project) at the Customer’s Plant(s) or facilities and manage the team of assigned consultants and be accountable for all aspects of the project.
- Establish measurable goals, KPIs, milestones, and workplans while ensuring the customer’s commitment and approval.
- Perform assessments of the customers’ manufacturing processes, identify organizational and process weaknesses and guide the VSE and customer teams on risk-assessment tools & methodologies.
- Coordinate training seminars and coach customer employees in “Lean” & advance problem-solving methodologies, and Industries best practices.
- Recommend process and organizational changes to improve customer’s assembly, manufacturing processes and eliminate waste and enhance KPIs.
- Build effective relationships with key individuals and stakeholders (clients, customers, suppliers, etc.) to ensure success during the consulting engagement and strengthen future business opportunities.
- Actively engage the assigned consultants and customer staff to drive visible weekly & Monthly improvements in manufacturing KPIs. Conduct weekly report-outs to provide fast feedback and communications to plant cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing) to accelerate the speed of corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Degree or other degrees (in combination with relevant experience may be considered).
- 25 years of experience in a manufacturing plant and/or supplier plant environment.
- A plus:
Experience in Automotive Assembly Plant and leadership roles within manufacturing operations (GA, Paint, Quality, Plant Manager). - Multiple leadership positions within an Assembly Plant with extensive experience in manufacturing, and production & quality improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing (WCM), continuous improvement and advance problem-solving methodologies and tools (10+ years).
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to work effectively with the customer’s executive leadership, plant management, and plant floor personnel.
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a high-intensity environment while managing multiple projects.
- Ability to work extended and/or flexible hours and travel as required.
- Proficiency with office computer systems / applications (i.e., Microsoft 365).
- Fluent in English - Written & Verbal.
