Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Duration: 12‑Month position (may extend)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Daily Schedule: Monday‑Friday; may work Saturdays in some weeks.

Shift Requirements: Must be able to work any of the following shifts. Commonly 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

• 1st shift: 5:15 am – 2:00 pm
• 2nd shift: 1:15 pm – 10:00 pm
• 3rd shift: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am

The Maintenance Group Leader will supervise skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Read and react to the manufacturing daily plan in real time.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
• Navigate change and ambiguity while maintaining accountability.
• Conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results.
• Recommend solutions to problems and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with local and national labor agreements.
• Implement divisional and corporate policies, safety, and good housekeeping practices.
• Use personnel, material, and equipment efficiently to meet schedule and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams beyond the work group.
• Support unionized environment through effective communication and problem‑solving.

• 1 year of direct supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal per diem group leader.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Experience managing performance concerns and leading people in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills; experience managing conflict and making decisions with ambiguity.
• Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.
• Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing; skilled trades background helpful.

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive, resourceful, and willing to ask questions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity and self‑direction.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
