Overview
We are looking for a corporate EHS Manager to work in Jackson, Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, or Butler, Pennsylvania. The Corporate EHS Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and management of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and objectives across all JSP locations (Tullahoma, TN; Butler, PA; Detroit, MI; Jackson, MI; and Milledgeville, IL). This position provides strategic direction and technical expertise to ensure company-wide compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.
The Corporate EHS Manager leads and manages EHS personnel, including EHS Specialists and EHS Coordinators at designated locations, and provides support and guidance to all sites to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and foster a strong safety culture. This role is critical in addressing company-wide EHS issues and ensuring consistent application of EHS standards.
- Develop, Implement, and Maintain Corporate EHS Management Systems and Programs: Responsible for the strategic development, writing, and oversight of the implementation of company-wide environmental, health, and safety management systems, policies, and programs for all JSP locations. This includes establishing annual corporate EHS goals, providing authoritative guidance to all sites on program requirements, and ensuring programs meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Ensure Company-Wide Regulatory Compliance and
Risk Management:
Provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure all JSP locations comply with applicable Federal, State (including TN, PA, MI, and IL specifics), and local EHS regulations. This involves monitoring regulatory changes, ensuring proper environmental permits are in place and managed company-wide, overseeing corporate reporting requirements, and participating in reviews and approvals related to management of change for new equipment, processes, and products to ensure potential hazards are identified and mitigated. - Lead and Manage Corporate EHS Personnel and Provide Site Support: Directly manage, mentor, and develop EHS Specialists and EHS Coordinators at the Tullahoma, Butler, and Jackson locations, providing guidance, performance management, and technical support. Provide expert EHS support, guidance, and information to plant management and personnel at all JSP locations, including those without direct reports (Detroit and Milledgeville), to ensure effective EHS program execution and compliance.
- Oversee and Strategize Company-Wide EHS Training: Develop the corporate strategy and standards for EHS training programs across all locations. Identify company-wide EHS training needs and oversee the development, implementation, and effectiveness of training programs designed to ensure all personnel are adequately trained in relevant EHS topics and procedures. Provide guidance and training on effective training delivery methods to site EHS personnel.
- Establish and Manage Company-Wide Incident Investigation and Performance Analysis: Set corporate standards and procedures for EHS incident reporting, investigation (including root cause analysis), recordkeeping, and the implementation and tracking of corrective and preventive actions across all locations. Lead or participate in investigations of significant incidents. Analyze company-wide incident data, performance metrics, and trends to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and provide input on lost-time injuries and Workers' Compensation claims. - Manage Corporate EHS Audits, Inspections, and Management Systems (ISO 14001/45001): Develop, implement, and manage a corporate internal EHS audit program to assess the effectiveness of EHS programs and compliance at all locations. Oversee and participate in internal and external EHS audits (including regulatory and insurance audits), ensuring findings are addressed.
