Overview
GTB (a VML company) is a global precision-marketing agency. GTB is part of WPP and works across six continents with offices worldwide. The Account Director serves as an agency leader for achieving the client's strategic brand objectives by collaborating with the client and focusing on all facets of strategic growth. This role establishes and drives internal teams to deliver on clients' goals, objectives, and overall strategic direction.
The Account Director also develops new, organic business opportunities with existing clients by building relationships across the client’s organization and with key industry partners. This person is team-oriented and possesses excellent problem solving, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsible for development of long-term account success and works with Strategy and Planning to transform knowledge of client objectives, internal and competitive opportunities, and customer insights into actionable marketing communications strategies and tactics.
- Lead and manage team on a given book; builds and maintains senior-level client relationships; provides direction to ensure business and project goals are met.
- Identify and mine new business opportunities.
- Develop and deliver direct and integrated marketing programs; maintain enthusiasm for clients’ business and industry.
- Communicate status of business to Executive Director of Retail Communications and escalate as needed.
- Execute and coordinate multi-faceted programs, including Cross Tier Campaign integration, Dealer Community Engagement, and Retail content at Tier-2 and Tier-1.5 levels.
- Manage ad-hoc content opportunities and ensure alignment with GTB’s Precision Marketing practices across shopper, , CRM, social teams, and related media for asset development and execution.
- Ensure measurable performance by coordinating with strategy and analytics for desired outcomes; manage internal processes and collaborations across teams (PPL, Hogarth, Media, Strategy, Creative, Analytics).
- Facilitate regular media and creative reviews with regional clients and agency teams; consolidate feedback into clear, concise direction for client and agency personnel.
- Manage budgets, tracking, and administration of program costs; provide monthly reporting to clients; manage creative approval and quality control.
- Suggest improvements to work processes, performance, and product quality; shepherd programs through documentation, briefing, and timeline management; continuously evaluate new processes.
- Be a steward of the GTB Retail’s Business Plan Review (BPR) process to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships at appropriate levels; ensure communications align with client needs.
- Acquire client assignments, define direction, and oversee the Retail Content Account team and cross-functional teams to meet client expectations.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for junior account team members; provide ongoing feedback.
- Develop client presentations and facilitate updates with GTB Field teams regarding Retail Communication (Content) updates for field consumption.
- Coordinate with internal touchpoints (Product, Proof, Legal, in-house production) to ensure program success; support new solutions and pilots related to Tier-2 and Tier-3 projects.
- Lead teams to ensure deliverables meet strategic objectives, budget, and timing requirements; consolidate regional feedback and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
- Maintain company standards as specified within the Quality Management System and ensure adherence to ISO
9001 requirements, processes, and procedures. - Perform other duties and projects as assigned; maintain excellent presentation skills and development capability.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong communication and teamwork; detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Retail Advertising including TV, Digital (video, programmatic) and Social; familiar with ; ability to build strong client relationships through reliable delivery.
