The Food Services Director organizes, plans, directs, controls, and supervises the dietary department, ensuring services meet federal, state, and local standards.

- Trains workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment
- Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the department
- Supervises and evaluates quality of work by employees
- Forecasts and plans purchase of supplies, equipment
- Plans work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services; maintains proper staffing levels
- Maintains required records: inventory, compliance, income/expense, personnel
- Conducts regular management staff meetings and coordinates with other departments
- Manages a cost‑effective program within budget
- Maintains department survey‑ready, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Maintains excellent relations with residents, visitors, and community departments
- Participates in facility meetings and committees
- Follows company policies and procedures
- Promotes professional growth of departmental team
- Conducts quality assurance rounds and inspections
- Reports monthly initiatives, goals, accomplishments
- Promotes and monitors resident satisfaction
- Ensures food service operation is clean, safe, and sanitary
- Associate’s or higher degree in food service management, hospitality, or related field
- Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years in long‑term care preferred
- Serv Safe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association
- Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP)
- Skilled in motivating and supervising staff
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet goals
- Public speaking skills
- Excellent stress‑management, administrative, and organizational skills
- Availability for all shifts as needed
- Proficient in Windows office software:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
