Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to support a data‑centric analytics product suite. This role is responsible for leading all testing efforts, including requirement analysis, test case creation, test execution, defect management, coordination with cross‑functional teams, and ensuring high‑quality delivery.

The ideal candidate is a data enthusiast with strong experience in validating metrics, working with complex data pipelines, and testing AI prompt‑based tools. This individual will collaborate closely with product owners, technical teams, business teams, project managers, external vendors, and offshore testing teams.

• Test multiple dashboards and certify that displayed metrics match underlying backend data.
• Test prompt‑based AI tools to ensure accurate and expected responses are returned to the UI.
• Verify data accuracy as various business rules and transformations are applied.
• Understand end‑to‑end data flow and validate content across UI screens.
• Evaluate data transformations, aggregations, and data movement across systems.
• Create and execute test scenarios for various APIs; prepare request payloads and analyze JSON/XML responses.
• Validate data ingestion from disparate sources into data platforms including Azure Databricks.
• Test ETL pipelines and workflows across Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Delta Lake environments.
• Thoroughly test business rules for data transformations and complex aggregations.
• Use SQL, Python, or PySpark to validate data within Databricks databases.
• Test source‑to‑target mapping across transformed, joined, aggregated, and downstream datasets.

• Design and develop an automation framework using PyTest for data validation.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts, including enhancements to existing frameworks.
• Utilize code repository tools to create branches, manage pull requests, and handle code merges.
• Use Sonar Qube to maintain code quality and resolve code smells.
• Create and execute detailed manual test cases based on functional and technical requirements in Jira.
• Log and track defects in Jira; work with development teams for defect recreation and validation.
• Create and maintain test cases in Test Rail.
• Participate actively in daily stand‑ups and collaborate across global teams.
• Ensure progress tracking and timely task updates in Jira.

• 3+ years of writing complex SQL queries.
• 3+ years of building test automation for data‑intensive workloads.
• 3+ years of Python or PySpark programming experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Apache Delta Lake or Databricks (Azure Databricks preferred).
• 1+ year of experience testing AI chat/prompt‑based tools.
• Experience with Git‑based code repositories (branches, PRs, merges).
• Strong understanding of data file formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro, etc.).
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of clean code principles and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working in Jira.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced Agile environment with high attention to detail.
• Experience across full software development life cycle (SDLC).
