General Summary
A Content Specialist is a dedicated person responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, creation and publishing of all content for Epic and IT training which includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Midyear and Year End Department Analytics
- Training Survey Results
- Data Dashboard
- Key HaBITTS Metrics and Monthly Reports
- HaBITTS eRoom (Business apps and Epic Training)
- HaBITTS Department Site Epic, IT & Virtual Care Document Library (One Henry)
- Epic, IT & Virtual Care Video Library (One Henry)
- Epic Training Dashboards (Document and Video)
- Epic Just in Time Videos
The Content Specialist serves content across a multitude of mediums including audio, text, and video. Various website content is largely controlled by the Content Specialist who creates and manages our digital materials to dynamically present new and fresh content to our end user community. The Content Specialist is also a content management Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the health system and provides ongoing support and education to others who are utilizing websites and other tools to serve content to their end user community.
The Content Specialist works closely with Leadership, Instructional Designers, HFHS Marketing and Web Services, Helios Analysts, and Corporate IT to develop content that is valuable to their desired target audience. This role requires a strong skill set in interpersonal, written and verbal communication as well as a broad set of technical skills.
Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMany of the common responsibilities a Content Specialist will oversee include:
- Developing a content strategy
- Updating existing content
- Building an editorial calendar
- Content promotion
- Identifying new content opportunities
- Monitoring website traffic
- Providing accountability for deadlines
- Departmental Analytics
- Associates Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school is required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 3 – 5 years computer related experience, required.
- Technical Knowledge, which includes, but is not limited to:
- VBA Coding
- Microsoft Image Composer
- RGB to HEX Codes
- Snag‑it
- HTML
- Camtasia
- Captivate
- Knowledge of HFHS clinical and operational workflows, as well as policy and procedures are beneficial.
- Well respected by peers and management and viewed as a trusted resource.
- Patience, with the ability to adapt to challenging situations and personalities.
- Outstanding customer service, people, and organizational skills.
- Constantly looks for ways to improve personal and organizational performance.
- Ability to maintain a high‑level of energy, adaptability, and flexibility necessary for this project.
