- Governance, Risk & Delivery Assurance Contract to Permanent Hire position Role Purpose

The IT PMO Lead is responsible for establishing and enforcing IT program governance, delivery standards, and risk management disciplines across the IT portfolio. This role partners closely with IT Program and Project Managers to ensure consistent adherence to IT processes, proactive risk identification, and effective mitigation—ultimately increasing predictability, compliance, and executive confidence in IT delivery.

• Define, implement, and enforce IT PMO standards for program and project delivery (planning, RAID, change control, financial tracking)
• Ensure alignment with IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, PMBOK, SAFe where applicable)
• Act as the second line of defense to validate compliance with agreed IT delivery processes

• Establish and run an enterprise IT risk and issue management framework
• Partner with Program Managers to identify delivery, security, compliance, and operational risks early
• Drive risk mitigation planning, escalation, and tracking to closure
• Provide independent program health assessments and delivery assurance
• Coach and support Program Managers on best practices, tooling, and execution discipline
• Ensure Program Managers maintain integrated plans, dependency mapping, and critical path visibility
• Act as a trusted advisor, helping PMs remove obstacles and manage executive expectation
• Ensure adherence to financial governance (budget, forecast, actuals, benefits tracking)
• Enforce change control and scope management to reduce unplanned risk
• Oversee cross-program dependency management to avoid downstream impacts

• Deliver standardized, risk-focused reporting to IT leadership and Steer Co
• Translate delivery risks into clear executive insights and decision options
• Maintain a single, reliable source of truth for IT program health
• Identify systemic delivery gaps and drive process improvements across the IT organization
• Standardize templates, tools, and metrics to increase maturity and consistency
• Measure and report on PMO effectiveness and risk reduction outcomes
• Lead Planview application deployments/improvements and work closely with PPM application vendor(s) to ensure successful rollouts supporting IT and Business Program Delivery teams

• Must have PMO Build Leadership experience
• 10+ years in IT program / portfolio management or delivery assurance
• 5+ years in an IT PMO or governance-focused role
• Experience partnering with multiple Program Managers across infrastructure, apps, ERP, security, and digital
• Strong understanding of IT delivery processes and governance models
• Proven ability to challenge constructively and influence without direct authority
• Excellent risk management and executive communication skills
• Balanced mindset: governance-driven but delivery-oriented

• PMP, PgMP, or SAFe
• ITIL, COBIT, or risk/compliance-related certifications
• Experience with PPM tools (Planview, Service Now PPM)
