We take our commitment to revitalization with Compliance and Nuisance Abatement programs, requiring renovation and occupancy to improve neighborhoods, eliminate blight, and combat real estate speculation. The Detroit Land Bank Authority works directly with individual buyers, as well as Community Partner organizations and developers for projects big and small.

The Project Manager I leads the planning and delivery of small to mid-sized technology projects that power the Detroit Land Bank Authority's digital programs.

The role coordinates cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver enhancements in Magento and Salesforce, oversee integrations and data quality for listings, auctions, deposits, program intake, and customer communications, and drive testing, release, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of small and mid-sized IT projects from initiation through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and communications.
  • Build and maintain project plans, RAID logs, decision logs, and stakeholder maps.
  • Facilitate daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retros in partnership with product owners.
  • Coordinate work across internal teams and external vendors or system integrators.
  • Elicit and translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and lightweight specifications.
  • Map current and future state processes for listings, auctions, deposits, program intake, and customer communications.
  • Define and validate nonfunctional requirements such as security, data retention, performance, and accessibility.
  • Coordinate enhancements and fixes in Magento 2 that support property listing, auction, payments, and customer experience.
  • Coordinate enhancements and fixes in Salesforce, which may include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or custom objects and flows that support DLBA programs.
  • Work with developers and admins to clarify edge cases, test data, and configuration details.
  • Oversee integrations between Magento and Salesforce and other services such as payments, documents, or mapping.
  • Triage sync failures, review logs, and partner with technical staff to resolve defects and data mismatches.
  • Define data quality checks and reconciliation routines and report on data health and exception trends.
  • Own UAT planning and execution, including test cases, schedules, user signoff, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate deployments, release notes, and change approvals with appropriate governance.
  • Track post-release metrics and lead hyper care to ensure stability and adoption.
  • Create dashboards, status reports, and executive updates that show progress, risks, and business impact.
  • Provide clear written and verbal updates to cross-functional partners, including Programs, Marketing, Real Estate, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Coordinate with external partners on SOWs, delivery milestones, SLAs, and incident response.
  • Validate invoices against delivered scope and timelines in collaboration with procurement and finance.
  • Support PCI, PII, and public sector data handling requirements in partnership with security and legal.
  • Document standard operating procedures for recurring jobs, syncs, and support handoffs.
  • Participate in an after-hours release or on-call rotation as needed.
  • Contribute to the IT delivery playbook, including templates, workflow standards, and definitions of done.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work through configuration, automation, or integration.

Perform Other Related Duties As Assigned By Department Leadership.

  • Defect leakage trending down across sprints and releases.

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Experience,

Skills and Abilities

)

  • Associate's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in IT project management or product delivery with demonstrated business analysis skills.
  • Hands-on experience delivering projects in an IT production environment.
  • Proficiency with Agile delivery and work management tools such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops, and documentation tools such as Confluence or SharePoint.
