Join BDO USA as a Financial Systems Senior Manager (FS Senior Manager) to oversee and manage a team providing business support, reporting, and analytic solutions for the effective use of financial systems and business process integrations that support the business functions of the organization. The role involves managing strategic investments in long‑range system planning, ensuring successful system project completions, transferring knowledge to the financial system team and enterprise‑wide owners, and driving overall system efficiency.

The FS Senior Manager proactively implements and proposes financial system initiatives and solutions to business issues, balancing adherence to overall system standards and strategy. The role leads growth of cross‑functional business owners and managers, contributes to financial system strategies, engages with cross‑functional teams and management to implement strategies, and supports general business planning regarding technology and markets. The position facilitates accurate, reliable and efficient financial reporting, metrics, dashboards and analysis, and leads or participates in implementations, upgrades or new functionality with a focus on automation, analytics and integration.

Post‑implementation, the FS Senior Manager continues to lead and participate in system support and leverage integrated finance system tools.

• Participates in the evaluation of software and hardware products for potential purchase and implementation based on analyzing business problems and assessing how technology can solve them.
• Determines the resources needed to plan and implement financial system solutions, collaborates with end users and provides software suggestions and recommendations.
• Manages projects effectively, directing day‑to‑day tasks, tracking and reporting project scope, priorities and deliverables.
• Ensures documentation is developed to meet project deliverables and schedules.
• Monitors and communicates project budgets, including internal and third‑party vendor costs.
• Supervises, coaches and mentors the FS Manager or Analyst, participating in resolution of third‑party support issues.
• Leads gathering of functional requirements, collaborates with business owners to define requirements and translates them into functional technical specifications.
• Accurately formulates and defines the objectives and scope of business systems and assesses risks.
• Makes recommendations and presentations to senior management to gain support of new projects and applications.
• Provides leadership and project management for the functional set‑up of business applications, including updates, upgrades and new implementations.
• Ensures effective communication from business acumen translation to technical/functional acumen to meet business requirements.
• Leads the FS Manager or FS Analyst in resolving complex transactional issues, using data integrity reports and other information.
• Manages the deployment of existing finance systems to other firms, promoting a unified system.
• Coordinates, participates and manages problem resolution related to disaster recovery, reporting and dashboards.
• Communicates financial system terminology into meaningful business acumen with owners, management and executives.
• Collaborates with management to understand workstream system gaps and prioritize gaps between current state and industry best practices.
• Documents and shares financial system insights with cross‑functional teams and management, building system related skills and knowledge.
• Manages, delivers and participates in implementing new finance systems, functionality or data analytics, integrating them with legacy systems.
• Coordinates, assembles and trains team members on processes to conform to audit controls on system projects, operations, documentation, process improvements, new implementations, fixes and updates.
• Proactively pursues visions and proposes strategies for growing utilization of financial systems and mobility across new and existing locations.
