About the RoleAs an HR Manager at Sage Solutions Group, you will serve as a trusted HR partner to small and mid-sized clients, providing hands‑on support across core HR functions. This role is ideal for someone who has been the “go‑to HR person” internally and is ready to expand their impact through consulting.
You’ll balance strategic guidance with day‑to‑day execution—helping clients stay compliant, build better people practices, and navigate employee challenges with confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned client organizations
- Develop, implement, and train leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Lead onboarding, hiring support, and annual benefits open enrollment
- Process payroll, manage benefits administration, and maintain HR documentation
- Provide guidance and administration related to FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and employee relations matters
- Partner with client leadership to align HR practices with business goals
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support HR projects across clients, including audits, training, and process improvements
- Travel to client sites within the Metro Detroit area as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager
- Experience supporting organizations with fewer than 100 employees preferred
- Hands‑on knowledge of payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations
- Comfort working independently, managing multiple clients, and shifting priorities
- Strong communication skills and professional presence with client leaders
- Willingness to work onsite at client locations as required
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) is a plus
- Steady salary range: $58,000 – $63,000
- Bonus opportunity based on billing performance
