Hotel Housekeeping Assistant Shift Manager

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills and experience. • Supervise staff and manage daily shift operations.
• Support, administer and manage operational goals and monitor performance and profit objectives.
• Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings and prepare daily shift reports.
• Develop effective schedules while maintaining labor costs and meeting staffing objectives to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Assist with the budget process, ensuring compliance with departmental budget initiatives and reporting concerns to hotel leadership.
• Provide customer service excellence, ensuring policies are followed and issues are resolved promptly.
• Direct housekeeping supervisors and team members to maintain cleanliness in all public areas and guestrooms.
• Tour facilities, evaluate staff performance and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist with reservation system operations, daily arrivals and departures.
• Maintain maximized occupancy and revenue for hotel operations.
• Recommend financial activities such as room rates and hotel policies.
• Order supplies, maintain par levels and develop a safety program for all team members.
• Train staff in OSHA standards and documentation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of departmental and company matters.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• One to two years of related experience or training.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to prepare reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in mathematics and ability to interpret graphs and data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and hotel software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically.
• Flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends and overtime.
• Must possess Michigan Gaming Control Board Occupational License Level 2.

Starting salary: $39,000, depending on experience.
