Pay Range: $20.80 - $31.20

Major Responsibilities
  • Development of inpatient imaging schedule on a daily basis. Utilize independent judgment. Interact with technologists, PCC nursing staff, nursing units, EPD and/or office personnel according to scheduling policies approved by the Department of Radiology. Seek assistance as required from the coordinator of scheduling and coordinators of Radiology modalities concerning unplanned requests for additional coverage for scheduling.
  • Maintenance of professional work environment. Communicate with imaging coordinators, director and managers to facilitate the efficient utilization of imaging modalities on a daily basis.
  • Facilitator of daily imaging schedule. Initiate changes as necessary to optimize imaging utilization. Remain attuned to patient, physician, and nursing unit needs. Obtain pertinent patient information through appropriate channels necessary for scheduling.
  • Responsible for optimal procedure utilization of imaging scheduling. Plan and implement procedure times. Predetermine appropriate availability of scanners, x-ray rooms, etc. Provide a completed schedule on the a.m. of that day. Work to coordinate a patient’s inpatient imaging procedure to enhance the patient experience and throughput at ACMC.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling problems. Maintain effective rapport and communication with all modalities regarding exams, procedure orders and times, cancellations and substitutions. Scheduler QC’s every requested procedure for accuracy and medical necessity. Serve as the point person when discrepancies need to be resolved. Able to facilitate expediting an inpatient procedure due to a vacancy or opening in the schedule.
Education/Experience
  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years experience in hospital setting or similar position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Typing 40-50 W.P.M.
  • PC computer experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must relate well with technologists, radiologists, office personnel, nursing personnel and other departments.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills required to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function in a fast paced environment with established time constraints.
  • Ability to utilize a computer for data entry, reports, spreadsheets.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours to meet the needs of the unit.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds; patient handling equipment used for lifts over 35 pounds with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations assessed case-by-case.
