Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible
Must-Have:
Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Description:

Reviews patient prescriptions to ascertain type of treatment required, location of affected areas, history of previous radiation treatment, etc.
Safely positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.
Utilizes appropriate treatment accessories as prescribed by the physician.
Operates treatment machine (linear accelerator, HDR) precisely.
Administers ionizing radiation as prescribed per physician.
Verifies radiation prescription prior to treatment and confirms total radiation dose following treatment in patient charts.
Documents treatment in inpatient charts.
Localizes patient markings daily.
Completes ongoing imaging of patients per departmental policy.
Assists patients in coordinating appointment times for daily treatments, accommodating patient transportation, and other appointments.
Refers patients to social worker for counseling, transportation, and medical equipment needs as appropriate.
Refers patients to nurse or physician for conditions requiring evaluation as appropriate.
Assumes the duties of simulation.
Rotates through treatment areas as assigned.
Responsible for cleaning therapy rooms and work areas; maintains linen and medical supplies for treatment rooms.
Adheres to the quality assurance policies of the department (chart checks, timeouts, machine warm-up, etc.).
Teaches radiation therapy students as defined by their educational requirements.
Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
