Detroit Recovery Project, Inc. (DRP) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that provides outpatient recovery support services for those with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We treat the whole person through our integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral healthcare.

Our program philosophy is rooted in developing a healthy recovery ecosystem for those seeking long-term recovery. Through strong therapeutic relationships with our clients, helping them to understand the underlying social and emotional issues that drive their substance use, the recovery ecosystem focuses on five key areas:

What we’re looking for:

Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Case Manager facilitates the RISE UP education series and screens attendees for participants receiving Case Management services. The Case Manager also assists in identifying and recruiting participants for the RISE UP educational series for those dealing with addiction and mental health challenges within the re-entry program. The Case Manager will work onsite within MDOC facilities, county correctional facilities, and in collaboration with parole or probation offices to connect participants to essential community resources.

Compensation:

This position is supported through grant funding. As a result, compensation is determined by the grant budget and may fall within a designated pay rate or range set by that funding source. The pay rate for this position is $50,000-$52,000 per year and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. This is a salaried-exempt role that is ineligible for overtime compensation.

Ideal candidate will:
  • Assist and empower participants by identifying a main concern, develop, and carry out strength based independent living plans that include measurable goals and objectives
  • Be responsible for creating a client treatment plan
  • Maintain a minimum case load of ten (10) clients
  • Coordinate prevention services with outside organizations and groups
  • Administer all pre- and post-program evaluation tools
  • Input accurate data into the DRP system in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Demonstrate and actively promote an understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the Detroit Recovery Project, Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Certified HIV tester in the state of Michigan preferred
  • Experience with re-entry programs is preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional experience with Case Management and services available in the community DRP serves
  • Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's license
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services required
  • Eligible to meet facility access and clearance requirements applicable to Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) and partner agencies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MDOC or comparable correctional-facility clearance, as required for the role
  • Relevant lived, professional, or community experience related to the justice-impacted population is preferred
  • Demonstrated comfort and professionalism working with justice-impacted individuals and diverse backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite within MDOC facilities, county correctional facilities, and in collaboration with parole or probation offices, as required
  • QMHP preferred
  • Trained in Motivational Interviewing preferred
  • Maintain appropriate positive, professional interpersonal relationships with staff, peers, participants, and volunteers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate teamwork, initiative, and willingness to learn
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills that support the DRP core values
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
