Children’s Hospital of Michigan is a leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine, offering advanced surgical services, imaging technology, and specialized care in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine across multiple facilities.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides respiratory therapy services throughout the continuum of care, acting as a professional team member. Responsibilities include maintaining interdepartmental relationships, assuming duties of an in-charge therapist, monitoring CQI activities, assigning workloads, coordinating staffing and equipment, and overseeing staff activities and emergency responses.
Instructs and evaluates employees and students in respiratory care procedures. Performs duties within education, training, and experience levels, including monitoring and caring for patients receiving ECMO or hyperbaric treatment, if applicable.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program;
Associates degree in Science, Allied Health, or equivalent. - Registration (RRT) by the NBRC.
- Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Michigan.
- One to three years of respiratory care experience; leadership experience preferred.
- Completion of ECMO training, if applicable.
- Hyperbaric training, if applicable.
- BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
