What We Are Looking For

The Covenant House of Michigan (CHMI) Clinician provides clinical assessment, brief individual, and group therapy, treatment and crisis planning, and support services to the residents.

Compensation Range

The starting pay for this position is $57,600 - $74,400 for limited licensed candidates, and $61,850 - $80,150 annual salary for fully licensed candidates, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provides brief therapy to CHMI residents as needed
  • Coordinates care with CNS Case Manager, Peer Support Specialist, CHMI staff and residents
  • Conducts face-to-face comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
  • Formulates and coordinate person-centered treatment plans
  • Uses evidence-based practices to provide individual, and group therapy
  • Meets direct service productivity and documentation standards per agency and program expectations
  • Completes all required documentation completely, accurately, and in accordance with CNS policy
  • Collaborates and participates with treatment team, CHMI staff, community partners, and other natural supports as identified by the CHMI resident
  • Participates in case conferences and staff meetings
  • Utilizes clinical supervision, responds to directives, and implement feedback.
  • Initiates referrals for psychiatric and psychological evaluations when deemed clinically appropriate
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Facilitate groups in conjointly with the Case Manager and/or Peer Support Specialist
  • Acts as liaison between the CHMI Resident and their natural support system, primary care physicians, and other community agencies identified
  • Assist CHMI Residents linking, and coordinating with CNS Case Manager and Peer Support Specialist for other support services
  • Prepare reports for other agencies, DHHS, courts, schools, etc. as needed
  • Obtains and maintains LOCUS rater-reliability and conducts other assessments
  • Maintains timely and accurate client records to ensure they meet CNS CCBHC CHMI, DWIHN, and CARF standards.
  • Utilizes a trauma-informed approach to services
  • Lead or participate in at least one process improvement initiative annually
  • Participate in required training to meet CCBHC and QMHP requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Required
  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • State licensure:
    Limited-Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LLMSW), Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW), Limited-Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Temporary Limited-License Psychologist (TLLP), OR Limited-Licensed Psychologist (LLP)
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
  • Individual with at least a master’s degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited school who is trained and has one year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of young adults
  • Valid State of Michigan Driver’s license
  • Transportation or automobile accessibility with current auto insurance
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
  • Ability to use discretion and judgmental when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
  • Advanced time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, collaboration, crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
  • Intermediate level experience with computers and Microsoft office products
