Medical Lab Technician
Location:
Detroit, MI | Pay: $36-$39/hr | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Under direct supervision by a laboratory technologist or supervisor, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, using manual techniques or laboratory instruments and information systems. May perform phlebotomy as needed.
Responsibilities- Handle specimens in a clinical lab environment, ensuring proper sample receipt and accessioning.
- Operate laboratory instruments and use LIS (Epic, Sunquest, Co Path Plush ) to conduct tests, primarily prenatal testing.
- Maintain PPE and observe laboratory safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and assist in laboratory operations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Certifications:
BLS, MLT is a plus. - Proficiency in Epic, Sunquest, Co Path Plush (LIS) technology.
- Strong technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient for laboratory functions.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.
