General Summary
Works under the direction of the hospice Bereavement Supervisor.
- Requires interpersonal skills necessary to present a positive image of hospice to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the impact of death, grief and loss on patients, families, staff and communities.
- Assesses and identifies the grief and bereavement needs of hospice patients and families as well as staff and volunteers in accordance with the hospice concept of care.
- Requires high school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in bereavement and/or training in bereavement or another related field preferred. Demonstrates ability for active listening.
