We are in search of a Medical Assistant to work with our amazing team. This Medical Assistant will be dependable and enthusiastic. They will enjoy collaborating with fellow team members and staff. They can change directions by moving through different tasks throughout the day.
This position is for a busy Benign and Malignant Hematology Clinic. The clinic has multiple physicians and mid-level providers as well as fellows who work in the clinic. The Medical Assistants also assist with sample preparation for patients having a bone marrow biopsy procedure. - The greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room,
- Obtaining medical histories,
- The measurement and recording of vital signs,
- Preparing patients for an examination/procedure,
- Assisting the provider during the examination/procedure.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
- Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
- Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
- Current BLS‑C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
- Works in a patient care setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases.
- Manual dexterity required to complete performance of duties.
- Walks, stands, stoops, and may require some heavy lifting of patients and/or equipment.
