Job Description

Student Medical Lab Tech (MLT) – Microbiology (Job #). DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) – a regional integrated laboratory system providing services to the Detroit Medical Center hospitals.

Under close supervision, perform routine clinical laboratory tests of a repetitive nature in one laboratory section. Analyze test results and relay results to physicians. Prepare and maintain accurate records. Maintain quality control parameters. Calibrate and maintain automated and non‑automated equipment. Obtain and transport specimens (e.g., blood) to the laboratory. Prepare media, stains, reagents, and other solutions. Comply with laboratory safety, OSHA, accreditation, and regulatory agency requirements.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Medical Technology Program.
