Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of trauma and OR experience for a hospital-based diagnostic radiology assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital diagnostic radiology department, including ER and OR settings
- Assigned area may include ER or OR, with portable imaging for young and geriatric patients
- Schedule is Monday to Friday, 1:00pm – 11:30pm, with every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Use GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arm equipment
- Uses Cerner for EMR;
Epic is not used - Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
- Performs radiologic procedures under physician orders with independent judgment regarding techniques, safety, and positioning
- Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for exams
- Selects and administers IV contrast media as needed, monitoring for reactions
- Utilizes ALARA principles and practices radiation protection for patients
- Completes all required documentation in the medical record and radiology systems
- Responsible for teaching or orienting new staff or students as needed
- Must complete online onboarding modules onsite and pass required tests prior to start
- COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory
- May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
- Scrubs or dress code requirements not specified
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in radiology, including trauma Level I or II and OR
- Active MI Radiologic Technologist license required if applicable
- ARRT registration in Radiography or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must obtain ARRT within 6 months
- Current AHA BCLS certification required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Physical ability to lift and/or move equipment or patients exceeding 10 lbs
- Must complete required hours of continued education
