Radiation Therapist

Under general supervision and in accordance with prescription, operates x-ray therapy equipment to simulate and/or treat patients for malignancies and pain.

• Documents treatment procedures in patient charts and verifies accuracy.
• Performs daily quality assurance checks on equipment.
• Performs calculations when required.
• Performs basic dosimetry calculations.
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy Technology or is a graduate of a CAHEA-accredited school in Radiation Therapy, or has an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current registration or registry eligibility with the ARRT. Must successfully complete the registry examination in Radiation Therapy within one year of hire.
• Operates all linear accelerators and simulators with minimal supervision.
