General Summary

Under general supervision, specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Performs related duties as required.

Compensation:
Up to $10,000 Sign-on Bonus

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination.
• Reviews clinical data on requisitions and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional medical history information as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and replenishes supplies regularly.
• Analyzes anatomical structures, sets up equipment, and performs CT scans.
• Manually controls equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information.
• Administers intravenous contrast media, including use of power injectors.
• Assists Radiologist with complex sterile procedures such as biopsies.
• Performs imaging procedures following radiation protection principles, including shielding and ALARA techniques.
• Ensures high-quality images are delivered into PACS, resolves image exceptions, and confirms image counts.
• Completes study indexing in RIS, including start, end, and completion of studies.
• Reviews clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies.
• Maintains professional standards such as AIDET, open communication, and respect for diversity.
• Documents all procedures accurately in medical records and radiology systems.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and either certified in CT or eligible to be certified within 12 months of hire.
• Maintains required continuing education hours.
• Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS) required.
