Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Fund Accountant Lead for a leading asset manager real estate firm in the Detroit area. This position is ideal for a CPA, ideally with direct experience working with companies in investment and fund management industry, with a focus on accounting and fund administration, and operations. The successful candidate will maintain the accounting functions of the firm’s Fund investment products, ensuring excellence in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

of the Fund Accountant Lead
  • BA or MA degree in Accounting with CPA qualification.
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and 1940 Investment Company Act regulations.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; VBA and data analysis tools.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities of the Fund Accountant Lead
  • Prepare and maintain all aspects of financial reporting, including coordination of annual audits, review of annual/semi-annual reports, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory filings including SEC Form Filings and principal officer certifications.
  • Prepare and maintain all disclosure control procedures in support of audits, monthly N-PORT filings, annual N-CEN, prospectus, and principal financial/executive officer certifications.
  • Maintain and develop the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Application of valuation procedures, consistent with all regulatory and financial standard pronouncements.
  • Monitor fund expense ratios, caps, and recapture programs.
  • Interact with third-party sub-administrators and custodians, ensuring accountability and performance.
  • Reconcile third-party administrator records with internal systems, including cash and investment positions.
