Our Financial Services EY EDGE practice provides dedicated tax technical services to both US and global clients. EDGE stands for Exceptional Delivery and Growth Engine, a technical environment with deep process and service delivery experience. The State and Local (“SALT”) team is a growing practice. As a Tax Senior Manager, you will immerse yourself in the evolving state and local tax environment, serving hedge fund, private equity, banking, and real estate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
  • Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients.
  • Research current market trends to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
  • Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor your advice.
  • Supervise a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, licensed Attorney or EA.
  • Minimum of 8 years professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Income/Franchise tax processes, concepts and tools.
  • Experience managing budgets, people and projects.
  • A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
  • Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
  • The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
  • Strong influencing skills, and confidence to question existing processes.
Ideally, you will also have
  • A proven record in a professional services environment or in‑house experience in a wealth and asset management company.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members.

What We Offer You
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits that reward performance and recognize value. Base salary ranges: $132,700–$303,200 (all U.S. locations); $159,300–$344,600 (New York City, Washington, California, excluding Sacramento). Individual salaries determined by a wide variety of factors.
  • Hybrid model: majority of external, client‑serving roles work in person 40–60% of the time.
  • Flexible vacation policy: decide how much vacation you need based on personal circumstances, plus designated EY Paid Holidays and leave options.
