The Senior Accountant supports the Finance Office and reports to the Finance and Data Manager, Finance and Human Resources Coordinator, and Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities- Create, maintain, and execute financial procedures
- Record accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Communicate with
- parents regarding tuition and incidental receivables
- vendors regarding billing and statements
- educators regarding transaction coding
- Bill student accounts for various incidental expenses
- Track receivables and follow up on outstanding balances
- Research, interpret, and analyze financial data
- Complete purchases on behalf of the organization
- Facilitate credit card receipt tracking procedures
- Work with third-party auditors during the annual financial statement audit
- Record payroll transactions
- Implement efficiencies by formatting Excel into Quick Books and ADP importable files
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- One to three years of accounting or related field experience
- Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google platforms
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Highly self-directed with an attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
